Event Details

Texas Tech will celebrate its Centennial in the DFW Metroplex on Saturday, May 20th with a complete takeover of the AT&T Discovery District in downtown Dallas. This promises to be the largest non-athletics event in university history and it will truly be an unforgettable night. All tickets include dinner and entertainment. Pat Green and the Josh Abbott Band will highlight the evening with performances you won't want to miss. At sunset, the entire Dallas skyline will turn red in celebration of Texas Tech University!

This event is open to all ages, but you must be 21 years or older to consume alcoholic beverages.

Dress Attire

Scarlet & Black! We want to have a sea of Scarlet and Black in downtown Dallas on Saturday, May 20th.  This is an outdoor causal event, and attendees are encouraged to wear weather-appropriate gameday attire.

Entertainment

Each artist will have their full band at this event.

Immersive Centennial Experience

The AT&T Discovery District is one of the most technologically advanced venues in the country. All guests should take time to visit the lobby of the Ed Whitacre Tower to experience the immersive Centennial visual and audio display. There are four unique presentations that will run on 24-minute loops beginning at 6 p.m. and will continue until the event concludes at 10 p.m.

  • Exclusive access to the JAXON Beer Garden with lounge seating, standing room, and indoor/outdoor options.

PURCHASE TICKETS

Getting to and parking at the AT&T Discovery District

There are 700 parking spots available in the AT&T Discovery District parking garage at 1212 Jackson Street. Parking in the AT&T Discovery District garage will be free for this event. Visitors will be able to enter the garage by pulling up to the gate and pulling a ticket. One hour before the event ends, the gates will be opened for guests to exit without the need to scan or pay the ticket. AT&T Discovery District is not responsible for and assumes no liability arising from accidents, fire, theft, damage to or loss of the vehicle or any article therein while on AT&T property.

We encourage visitors to use a ride share service (Uber/Lyft/Taxi). The best drop off location for the event is Whitacre Tower on Commerce Street. The address to enter in app is 208 S Akard Street Dallas, TX 75202.

In addition to the AT&T Discovery District parking garage, there are nearly 2,000 parking spots in public garages and lots to the Southeast of the District along Wood, Ervay, and Commerce Streets. You can find public parking in Downtown Dallas here.

You can also get to the AT&T Discovery District via DART. Akard Station is 3 blocks north of the District on Akard Street at Pacific Avenue. The station is served by the Blue, Green, Orange, and Red lines. The closest DART Bus Stop is on Commerce at Field Street.

Security

The safety and well-being of our guests is top priority. Texas Tech University is working in partnership with AT&T and the Dallas Police Department to ensure that this event is both safe and enjoyable. All guests will be screened upon entry into the venue and the following items are prohibited:

  • Firearms
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Illegal substances
  • Backpacks
  • Outside coolers
  • Outside alcohol or food
  • Animals (except service animals to aid guests with disabilities)
  • Throwing objects
  • Artificial noise makers
  • Signs/Posters of any size
  • Smoking – including the use of e-cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, or vaporizers.
  • Use of unmanned and remote-controlled aircraft systems (e.g., drones)
  • Any other item or action deemed dangerous or inappropriate

Bags should be no larger than a small clutch purse (4.5” x 6.5” with or without a handle or strap).

Guests who appear to be inebriated and unmanageable will not be permitted admittance into the AT&T Discovery District.

Weather

The event will proceed rain or shine. Should it rain, there will be a covered indoor space inside The Exchange Hall. Please note that umbrellas are allowed if you wish to bring one.
